Hope for mothers and babies in Northern Uganda

The African Mission Foundation supports a special and life-saving project in Northern Uganda through GlobalGiving. The project focuses on restoring and improving maternal and infant care in a region where medical facilities are still under severe pressure.

Local Health Centres

In recent years, Pearl Rural Care has primarily received support from African Mission in the form of branding and marketing support. We have sponsored a new website and purchased software licenses. With this project, Pearl Rural Care will strengthen local health centres. They do this by:

  • training nurses and midwives;
  • improving emergency care surrounding childbirth;
  • supporting newborn care;
  • making essential medical supplies available;
  • providing better guidance to pregnant women in remote villages.

In addition, much attention is paid to education within the villages themselves. Local volunteers help pregnant women seek medical help earlier and guide them to health centres for prenatal check-ups and safe deliveries. Previous programs in Northern Uganda show that this approach actually saves lives and significantly increases the number of safe deliveries.

For African Mission, this project aligns closely with our mission: providing practical help in places where the need is high, with special attention to vulnerable women and children. Good maternal and child care forms the basis for strong families and healthy communities. We are grateful to be able to contribute to better medical care and new hope for families in Northern Uganda through this initiative.
